I have got a question concerning the summer concerts. Are you going to have only 3 concerts in Europe or maybe you will add some cities on your tour ?  :king:

Ok, so now about GRÖNA LUND.

Tickets presale is unavailable at the moment and will be unavailable to the end  :gah:
There is also no reservation.

Today I received an email from the promoter, which reads as follows:

“This concert is on our big stage in the park so what you can do is buy your tickets when you arrive at Gröna Lund. You only need an entrance ticket to see the concert, and the price is 110 SEK.
Be sure to come early to make sure that you come in, it’s not usually fully sold out to the park but is has happened.
Kind Regards,
Cornelia Alderin
Privat- och nöjesbokning “

Hmmmm…
I'll travel 1.164 km at random: tickets for sale or sold on / will come in or won’t  ??? (I like their sense of humor) :P

Unfortunately, this message has been confirmed by Livia and my Swedish friends, who contacted with promoter via phone.
What to do.
Nothing ventured nothing gained

BOYS!!!!!  We're going there!!!!!!!!!   \m/

"We're all looking very much forward to come back to Tilburg this summer. It will be one of three preparation shows for our Wacken Open Air performance, and it will consist of the full Wacken show, meaning, it's going to be different from last year's Tilburg show, including a different set list and new special effects. All in all, we will actually only be playing 5 shows total in Europe this year. We're in the process of building a new studio in my home, and will be spending most of 2014 getting it up and running and writing new material. I hope to see you at the 013 on July 30th. It will be worth it." - King Diamond

I was so ashamed that so little amount of fans came to greet the band:(
I doubt that King will want to return to Moscow in nearest future, because of lazy fans who didn't attend to the show:((((((

I think we are going to have a pre-party type of event in Oulu week before the show. I do not know the venue or exact date yet, but in one of the local bars anyway. We have the long-dead tribute band up and running again, so at least one of the bands will play older KD & MF stuff.

No way, Swedish crowd was quite a lame in the Sweden Rock (of course the show itself was outstanding as I saw also Hank, Mikkey and Denner on stage). The crowd was a LOT better when King Diamond played in Finland the last time. So, Finnish crowd vs. Swedish crowd 6-3, but it was awesome to see both shows as I had such a great time in Sweden as well.  :icon_wink: Okay, you might think I'm pissed of as we lost Sweden in ice-hockey in the Olympics this year. Maybe I am, but not that much. :fauxcul:

I'm not talking about the real Santa Claus, I mean Metal Santa Claus who also lives in Finland and is as satanic as you can get. :diabo_do_msn:

Hey Livia!

Just got my ticket to the Berlin show a couple of days ago and have a little question: are there any plans of some sort of a signing session? I mean we haven't seen King and the band for so many years and there's only one solo show in Germany... it would be so awesome just to see them for a couple of seconds, may be get some stuff signed or something :) I don't think I've even heard of King doing this kind of events... Anyway it would be an awesome idea, what do you think? :)

Thank you!

And yes, thanks for the offer :) My eyes are overly sensitive to sunlight, due to me reading in the dark for years (hey, my parents turned off the lights and I didn't want to stop the awesome books I was reading), so it was very tough and actually very painful for me to have the sun shining in my eyes like that.
Hell, I had to clean my makeup off my face where it ran with the pain-tears, haha :)

Pontus is a monster player, he learned the entire set perfectly within a few days, and played it awesome! Huge kudos to him, like King said.

Glad you liked the show!
What did you think of the last trick? :)
Spoiler alert for others!

Ah so that was What you were doing back stage : )
Sounds a bit painful yes but dont worry, you looked (and sounded) great !!

Very cool to bring the Old coffin trick back....poor grandma : )
Nice to see Dr L too : )

I wonder if it will be allowed to do the coffin trick in the United States.  I do not see the Vic theater in Chicago letting them do this.

I'm watching now video from this gig and I think that he sounds like earlier before break(Montreal 2003 for example). He sounds great and no false :D, but I miss to King's growl voice, which should be in Sleepless Nights and Welcome Home. New bassist is nice, but I always will miss Hal, but although this it was great concert with great setlist. Livia please come to Poland again

I've been awake 'till 3 am following the video hosting on youtube! On one hand I'm so excited for this tour, on the other hand I'm eating my heart out for the fact that you're not coming to Italy!  :icon_cry:
Killer set-list, but I miss Up From The Grave and Voodoo!
The scenography is amazing, even if I think that something is sacrificed playing in daylight! In the dark it would be chilling as hell!  :fingers:
Never Ending Hill is awesome! Livia sounded great on that, but to be honest I hoped they would play Give Me Your Soul and The Girl In The Bloody Dress to let her sing some lead vocals!
Congratulations to everybody, you all sounded great! I have to admint that Pontus really knows what he's about! He's very clever!
I'm still missing Hal though!  :icon_cry:

You're lucky, I know it's not so easy to meet King during a tour! He's resting most of the time since he can't sleep on the bus! But maybe you did it because there are two days off between the shows of Stockholm and Berlin and they had not to pop-off!
I would give my right arm to meet King in person and take a picture with him! :king:

By the way, this is my 666th post! Am I winning a prize? :D

It's sad how much I think that phrase to myself when I'm too tired, after all these years.

That notice is automatic from Facebook/BandsInTown app. It went out before I had a chance to stop it. Naturally, as crappy luck would have it, the internet service was down in our hotel, and I just now managed to get online again.

Hey Tasos. If i knew you were in Ansterdam we could've met up, just like Bloodstock. I've done nothing but pace around the airport all day..lol.

I found out not long after i stepped off the plane from England. Had 2 nights booked in Tilburg. Now i've had to book into a hotel here in the airport and buy a new ticket to fly back tomorrow. The whole trip has cost about €1000 and all i've got to show is a pair of cloggs for my grandma!  :icon_mrgreen:

I also had to fly back from Copenhell before the gig last year, as the day of the gig got changed. But hey, that's rock n roll i guess. What's most important is that King's health is ok going forward.

I just wanted to post this in this thread as well.
.
.
.
.
OK guys...

I am of course not speaking on behalf of anyone, this is simply my own post.

Why on earth would a USA tour happening three whole months from now be affected by one single cancelled show?

King is not even dealing with this right now, he is trying his best to get his vocal chords to perform perfectly at Wacken for you all. He is not even sick or anything, it's entirely a vocal chord matter.

We just released info on our Facebooks including the doctor's note, sorry we couldn't get it out earlier. We can't immediately provide every "evidence" and info for everyone to see, right away. Hotel internet was down. We needed translations. We had to run get medications, inhalers, etc. Then doctor needed release forms from us as well, so we could get his report to our European booking agency, who needed this for the promoter in Tilburg.
But most of all, King has to rest his vocal chords.
Our first priority was not to take to the internet and make everything public right away, when we ourselves didn't even know what was going to happen.

Anyway, please be assured that a single cancelled show due to dehydrated vocal chords will not affect shows happening 3 months from now.

I've included an interesting read for those who care about vocalists' nightmare. It's all about what can happen to your vocal chords in extreme situations and how to get them back in shape as quick as possible.

I know it's hard to have patience in situations like these, but rather that than start speculating about things that are not known even to us.
You should always wait for the facts from us, however hard that might be.

http://singersresource.net/vocal-recovery/

Oh and P.S.: Dehydrated vocal chords have nothing to do with how much water one drinks... (Replying to a private message here)

Thanks Livia. Really don't get those stupid negative comments that appeared on facebook earlier. In fact they were more of an attack than anything else. So much for being fans. Yes, some of us have paid out quite a bit to be here, but it's a chance you take. I know King and the band want nothing more than being out there playing. It's an unfortunate event but i'm sure we all want King firing on all cylinders going forward.

No, I can't stop it. I have no access to the BandsInTown app. Anyhow, we were on the bus traveling to Hamburg. No internet on the bus, so I couldn't even keep an eye on it and delete it as it pops up.
We have just arrived, and as it is, the first thing I checked was this board and the Facebook accounts.

I deleted the announcement now.

i think it is because people are still at the festival.
At the festival, they would need good wifi signal...and data.
at home there will be wifi, or your phone hooked up to the computer.  :)

The show in the Oulu Jalometalli was the best I´ve ever seen and I´ve seen a lot. It was the first time I´ve seen King Diamond and at the beginning I couldn´t believe it come true. There´s no need to beer and any other break. I was enjoying the music at front of a stage a lot! The band was playing very well and very loud. My ears is still beeping, maybe I have to wear earplugs at next time even I don´t like to use them. If King comes again to Finland I´ll be there for sure. Thank you all! :king:

I know very well that sensation, buddy! I've seen many great concerts in my life, but none of them can be compared to the magnificent of a King Diamond show!

Beyond awesome show in Oulu!!!

Everything was unforgettable and magical (well everything but the extreme pressure in the front row. It was at times kind of a battle to stay there in the very first row :D).

The Puppet Master was outstanding both musically and theatrically. We both (me and my wife) loved it and thought it was one of the highlights for sure. Never Ending Hill blew my mind away and so did Shapes of Black in the darkening night (my favorite part “ah-ah-ah, I see them, ah-ah-ah, I hear them” sounded better than ever!).

Cremation was of course a magical and unforgettable moment. Reverend Sammael and Dr. Landau both on stage, that was something extra cool! I can still see the burning episode in my mind and hear the shouting “burn her, burn her, burn her!” Grandma had that wicked smile still on her face only seconds before she got burned.

Of course I loved all the classic tracks, how couldn’t I? Sleepless Nights and Black Horsemen for example are songs that should be played in every King Diamond show. They are both among the very best metal songs of all time. Come to the Sabbath was freaking awesome as always. It’s like a one wicked ritual put into music.

Digging Graves was a perfect choice, too bad it was only a part of the medley. I hope we can hear the whole awesomeness in the future. It’s one of the stand-out songs from The Graveyard.

King’s vocals were top-notch, amazing singing! The whole band sounded brilliant. I have always adored the perfect musicianship of the King Diamond band, and I guess I'll always do.

For a moment I thought how cool it would be to see “Them” and Conspiracy both played on stage from start to finish and with actors and theatrics. That would be one hell of a special King Diamond show and would last about the same time as this European Summer tour set list. It’s just an idea as it would be great to see some more Reverend Sammael and Dr. Landau. I do hope that Reverend Sammael will be a part of the shows in the US as well. You deserve the best as we Europeans got that greatness.

Cool photo! \o/ Me and my wife don’t have Facebook profiles so thanks for sharing it. You rock! :)

I was eating there in the front row and my mouth was full of food. We were waiting there many hours just to make sure we can see the King Diamond show from the very first row. Suddenly Matt came by and asked if he could take a photo of us. He was wearing sunglasses and first I didn’t even recognize him. Then I realized it was Matt Thompson himself but he was in a hurry and I ran out of words (as I still had some food in my mouth, it’s not so easy to eat when you have that King Diamond make-up on your face, you know :DD) and he said “see you soon!” and then he was gone. Thank you Matt, it was such an honor to be on your photo!

P.S. Hey, especially King Diamond brothers from Poland: next time you should come to Finland to see a King Diamond show. It’s one hell of an experience, I guarantee. Our crowd is crazy! ;D

We were few minutes from booking the Finland trip, but it was way to heavy for the pocket to make it happen (driving a car was not an option...)  So we decided to let it go. Maybe one day...  :diabo_do_msn:

Hey my fellow European Diamondbangers: Don't forget to vote Finland (Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät) in the Eurovision song contest this week.

Here's a picture of their guitarist Pertti Kurikka. He's a fan of King Diamond as you can notice by looking at the logo in his right chest ;) :

I hate the contest, to be honest, like most of the metal fans do, as it's full of lame pop music. But this year Finland's representative in the contest is Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät that is a punk band, whose all members have down-syndrome. In my opinion these guys are true heroes, they are real and their music is opposite to that trendy pop bullshit Eurovision Song Contest is all about.

Here's the song "Aina mun pitää" that is representing Finland in the competition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIZzMRISzHM
