Does anyone know if the first solo is sped up? It's insanely fast. Thanks.

I think it's not! It seems to me that it's pretty the same played live!

No I don't believe so just fast picking and fret work it gets that sped up sound from the distortion or processor effects being used in the solo.
Great solo by the way but again It does not sound like it the tempo was increased analog or digitally for the recording to make it sound faster.

It's defintely fast, but I honestly do not think it was sped up. I'm sure it took a few takes to get it perfect, but neither Shermann or Wead would ever speed up their solos with studio-techniques to make it faster. They are just great at the guitar, as simple as that.

My apologizes if what I wrote previously was misunderstood. What I meant to say is no the solo was not sped up in the studio its just an amazing shred with great tone and feel to it. Pure picking and fret work nothing else.

And I absolutely agree. I was referring to the opening post by Vlad Tepes.
