"Them" Song
« on: November 13, 2008, 01:30:57 PM »
"Them" is not intrumental, if you listen very hard he say:

King, come back to us
King, remember the tea
We are stronger than you
You must return...

I discover it by myself and I'm very proud! Since I discover that, this is one of my favorite song. Did you ever heard that?

Yeah he said on the WRTN tapes that the title track is about THEM trying to convince him to come back to the old house

King appeared on a radio show at WRTN radio just before the release of THEM.  he sat there for at least three hours answering questions about all kinds of stuff. Anyway these tapes used to be sold and I bought them once, they also had some footage with King on Metal shop as well.  ACtually there is a whole thread on here where I wrote a lot of what was said on those programs if you want to check it out.

I'm confused. you didn't hear that at first? I don't think it was meant to be hidden or subliminal. I heard it loud and clear on first listen.

I'd still say it's an instrumental of sorts.
Amazing song!

I wouldn't call that song an instrumental, more of an "atmospheric interlude."

I nominate Countie to moderate the KD/MF section of the boards from now on. She clearly knows enough on the subject, is here ALL the time, and has a sense of universal diplomacy that can't be argued!

I think it's referred to as an instrumental 'cos there is no singing melody in it. But I agree that they should have at least included the lyrics with the rest of the album.

No need to apologize! I agree with Beelz here, there's no singing, only whispers...like an intro or smth :gah: So that's why it is classified as an instrumental

That is great that you had discovered it by yourself. But it was never a "discovery" for me, since I heard that on my very first listen back in the 80's...Wow, the 80's....what a time for the King \m/
