Would certainly be worth to make it public on this site of real fans and collectors.
Would be nice to be able to pick up a rare item at a good price, and also to know how much items are considered to be worth, by other fan's.

I've just seen the original 1980 Brats LP + 7" Sgl aparently in Ex condition on E-Bay for 50-USD which imo is rather 'cheap'.
Will be interesting to see where it will end. It's from a danish 2nd had shop of good reputation; No not Michael Denner's shop.
Anyone interested; it's Item number: 140082784077.

That was the main reason I started this thread. I've seen a few 12" at a local store and thought the price was rather steep. I wanted to know their "value", but couldn't find the site I knew listed them.
It would be a good thing to incorporate those pages in the official coven.

So if you have it, let's get it out here.
It will work both ways, if someone see the listing they should be able to comment it, and say if a 'quote' is too low or too steep. Since we have to expect some rare issues to get lost over time some items will eventually go up in value, or it would be because more fans start looking for it.
Am I greedy - yes I am  :fingers:

Yeah, that's true. I checked the site again, and the value is mostly an estimate from one guy. a community list would be more accurate
But I believe this used to be the official KD/MF site before it moved here. It hasn't been updated since 2001. A lot has happened since. I'm surprised by some of the estimates. There is stuff I see everywhere valued at the same price as items I had a hard time finding. An update would do it justice.

So I'll just transfer it to my first post (sometime tomorrow). I will ask permission, of course, but will this guy even be interested in collaborating? I doubt it. He seemed pretty pissed off when he stopped updating. But his list is there so might as well use it!

Ok, done. That was a lot of stuff. Couldn't get it all in a single post 'cos only allowed 20000 characters per post. I'll clean it up as I go along. ANd I'll format it differently. I know it's confusing the way it is now. I already removed the bootlegs and the cds. But will probaly include those known bootlegs, like the Time vinyl, with a mention that it is a bootleg, so nobody gets fooled! I'll also remove the guy's notes like which album he has an autographed copy of, etc... And I consider the old fan club releases as being official.

There is also stuff missing! like everything after 2001, for starters.....a lot of work!

Certainly a lot of work here, but thanks for putting it up.
I had this list once; might still have it as a print.
Let's consider it public knowledge for sure - don't recall the " getting pissed of ( what ? ) story " but like you say, it definately need an up date both for new items and value. I recall I thought some of those pricings rather silly, since it was commonly available products. Now the LP's are hard to get, and I'm happy I actually saved a few cassettes from those days. Maybe a separate section on the CWW. Could start with a listing as complete as possible, but without price quotings ( or you could make your own ) and ask that suggestions of corrections are put on the forum. It would be great fun to watch the conversations between interested parties like "I'll never pay that much" versus "I'd give my left arm for that album in mint condition" etc. etc.

It would be great fun to watch the conversations between interested parties like "I'll never pay that much" versus "I'd give my left arm for that album in mint condition" etc. etc.

Ok, I just cleaned it up! I'll keep the explanation of edits I make in new posts, to clear up the initial one as much as possible.
Pricing will be updated. Any suggestions or knowledge anyone may have is welcome.
And yeah! it's fun to argue on the value of those rare finds. I'm the type that believes that if people are willing to pay a certain price for an item, and that price remains constant for a few sales, then that's what the item is worth! I, for instance, would value the white border MF debut for a lot more!

As for Olivier, the guy that wrote the original list, my e-mail came back, MAILBOX NOT FOUND. I tried.
I'll just consider his work as Public Knowledge.

The "pissed off" vibe I got from him came in his last news update on his site. But I don't know any of the parties involved personally, and don't wanna stir any old feuds. I just thought I'd mention that I wouldn't be surprised if the guy wouldn't help me with the list after reading the way he felt.
Here it is.

Quote
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Having spent the most part of my free time during three years on creating, improving & animating
the King's Gems page which became The Official King Diamond & Mercyful Fate Homepage, it was
an extremely hard and sad decision to choose to close the website.

I don't want to enter into boring & tearful explanations about this situation. Though, I do think that all
the people who have supported and appreciated the website deserve at least to know why I have decided to stop.

For about one year and a half, the fan club and the management agreed to promote this website
to the status of the official MF KD Coven homepage. So it was clearly announced on the previous fanclub
fanzines and in the House of God booklet, Metal Blade ads,... etc.

Though, without any discussion nor notice the fan club's guy Renzo Van Soelen launched "the"
official MF KD Coven homepage... I have been extremely surprised when one day of November I found
that new page (which already existed since October) on internet as 1/ I was already running the official homepage
2/ nobody told me about that page and 3/ no explanation has been done about the reason of such strange project.

Obviously, I asked explanations & a real choice from the management in order to know what this second
page means and what mine will mean in the future. Difficult to understand, but Olé Bang didn't agree to take his
decision during months. Untill the day I have published the actual European manager's tour diary. That day
I receive an email from Mr Van Soelen telling me that this diary has exclusively been written for the official
KD MF Coven homepage (of course he meant his page). So he was forbiding me to use it on mine. Furious, I
sent once again a letter to Olé Bang asking explanation, as during previous tours he personally sent me his diaries for
a publication on my page! The answer was : indeed you can't publish it, it is reserved for Van Soelen's page.

Well, it's far from the end of the world (even far from my own end :) ) but I couldn't have borne such an
unhonnest attitude and unrespect from these people. I have given all my heart & soul with total loyalty &
sincerity to the bands & fans. I can't understand and accept that some can decide to give the official status
to the website and remove it without reasons...

Finally, I especially want to thank all the great people who were behind the website or I was lucky enough
to meet. Some of them are real friends and like part of my family. I am also grateful to the bands memebers and
labels who always accepted to help me and support the website with great gifts for the contest, exclusive interviews,
nice news & info, ... etc. You guys were the deep reason of the big & endless growing success this website had
and especially all the happiness I got from this project which has been one of the most important of my life...

Ok, I made the list for the purpose of not getting ripped off by greedy sellers.

For the Bell Witch, from the original list, it mentioned that it was the first MF to not get a vinyl release.
So if someone comes accros a copy, it will obviously be a bootleg. So that's why I put that in the list instead of not putting anything at all. And looking like I forgot or missed that one.

So how about I put a mention that it hasn't been confirmed to exist yet?
(same goes for Time pic disc, and Into the Unknown lp and pic disc.)

Vaguely recall some of this, but let's agree that he did a great job, which should continue.
May he rest in R 'n' R heaven.

By the way, what's considered a fair price for Japanese CD's.
I'm putting my MF Japan Cd's up on E-bay. Aren't exactly rare, although most of them might not be manufactured any more. Guess they made 2 or 3.000 of each title. MF & KD never made it "big i Japan" - but pricing them lower than the actual japanese retail price would be weird.

from the list, they were valued between $30-$45 in 2001, but I have no idea what's the retail price in Japan.

And Ole, I would like if you could contribute with more insight on the thread I had started about the weird mix of Come to the Sabbath from the canadian vinyl of DBTO. No one seems to have an explanation for it.
Thanks.

Well, we shall see...I've posted mine at USD 25- ( except the Bellwitch EP ) :P
The Japanese price is very close to 19 USD I think, but the american dollar is going down on a regular basis. Have no idea about the movement of the yen though.

The backcover of the US version of Halloween looks just like the Dutch press. The only thing that´s different is the color of the song titles & the band members name. The dutch is White and the US version is Red.
