I feel HOG is a strong overall effort whereas Abi 2 falls flat a bit after Slippery Stairs....though Spirits is great it kinda loses itself a bit for me and I end up putting something else on...whereas I enjoy HOG in full

House Of God is a masterpiece, hands down! \m/

It's the only KD album from this past decade that actually sounds like a throwback to the classic days while still sounding fresh and unique in its own right. Plus, the concept is just mind boggling.

Yeah. Just the philosophical approach that's taken in the story. It's kind of like "WOW!".

I think I get it. The music is actually as great as the story. I finally think the only aspect of the album I don't like that much is the guitar solos. They sound "generic" to me. Andy is a great player, but he needs a contrasting partner. Sadly, Glenn Drover sounds too much like Andy. His phrasing is also a tad "dull" to my ears. I would have preferred someone with less technique, but with more personality --either Hank or Denner, for example.

Anyway, luckily the situation was corrected from "Abigail II" on. We have someone now who's got the brain, the fingers, the ears, the heart and the balls: Mike Wead.

all of us with different opinions.. fantastic  \m/

for me, i prefer TSL or Graveyard. House of god is overall a good album (trees have eyes, black devil,..) but it is not in my top 5

A very good album, with a feel to the past.It reminds me of Conspiracy somehow.Way better than Abby 2,equal to Voodoo. For me with the latter, the band seems to recover slowly from many years of not so inspired music(TSL,The Graveyard)

As I already said, don't get me wrong. The story is amazing and the riffs are sick. But I don't like the solos. There's something boring about them (or so I see them). In any case, it's just a matter of taste. For example, I do like both TSL and The Graveyard.

I noticed a recylced Black Rose riff in the song Black Devil. Just thought I'd point that out. :D:

Well, I wouldn't know which Black Rose song you're talking about, but HOG isn't a bad album, I think it's good, it's even better with the louder mix. Classic KD storyline: Religious stories are a lie, and theres an existence of a higher malevolent power. Can't go wrong with this album, TPM is the only album (of the decade) that's better.
