The LEAST BEST MF album for sure has to be 9. MF had one of the greatest consistent metal streaks ever (1982-1999) along with iron Maiden 1980-1988 and Black sabbath 1980-1995 (seventh star doesn't count, that was supposed to be a solo album!) In fact, even though 9 was my least favorite, I still consider that release a stellar release, better than most heavy metal albums in general, and definitely better than GMYSP. I just disliked the production (very bad job by Kol Marshall.)  and some of the songs were weak, but songs like I sold Your Soul, Last Rites, and Buried Alive are plain awesome.

Into The Unknown is easily my most favourite MF album. Talking about the least favourite...it really has to be Melissa. Blasphemy, I know.

I love them all but if I had to pick it would be House Of God and Into The Unknown. I used to always think Dead Again was my least favorite but it grew on me and now I really dig it.

which was the one with lars playing drums on return of the vampire track?
that one. not because of lars(i swear i didn't mean that as a bash), it just happens to be my least fave.
as far as "into the unknown" goes, the title track is bad ass!

I don't mean to say that I hate that album, but it's just that I don't feel it's in the same level than the previous KD albums.

I think Into the Unknown is one of the best MF albums.  I was a teenager when I first saw the video Egypt on Headbangers Ball and I went out and bought all the MF and KD albums I could at one time.  Still that album takes be back.

I have no least favorite. Each album stands on it's own. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Each album is different, and tests the band as the band and the music evolves. So there is no way for me to think less of any of King's or Mercyful Fate's music as it is great music all around. Some fan's taste is different and thus you have a contrast in opinions as it should be.
