Dead Again song based on Tales From The Crypt episode?

Seeing the post on Gramma possibly the inspiration for "Them" inspired me to post this but it's something I've been wondering about for a very long time, since Dead Again actually came out.

I saw this episode of Tales from the Crypt called "Dig That Cat...He's Real Gone" which originally aired on June 10, 1989 on HBO (Season 1, Episode 3: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Tales_from_the_Crypt_episodes). The plot of the story is basically as follows:

"A cat's gland is implanted into the brain of a homeless man, (Joe Pantoliano), giving him eight chances to cheat death. He soon gets greedy and uses his newly found gift for profit by becoming a top carnival act."

The first few minutes of the song seem to tell the story, then what happens when the guy actually dies each time, hence all the pauses.

Just my idea, I'd be curious to know if it's in anyway related.
