YES!!! "Dreams of Horror" will also be released on VINYL

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dreams-Of-Horror-Best-VINYL/dp/B00L1VKJKI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413201775&sr=8-1&keywords=King+Diamond+%22Dreams+of+Horror%22

:fingers:

The above is a link to the cd release. Vinyl is not mentioned.
A vinyl release would be cool though.

http://www.metalblade.com/kingdiamond/
4 different deals are mentioned.
ITunes
Cd only
Cd with calender. Mainland Europe.
Cd with t-shirt. UK and Northern America.

I myself pre-ordered the UK release, since i want the cool looking t-shirt and do not care about the calender.  :icon_wink:
(almost 39 Euro's, including shipping)

If you're from Europe...and want the t-shirt release.
US import is a 3 Euro's cheaper... something i figured out after ordering the UK version.
All depending on currency exchange.

3 euro's might not be much...but it's still a few beers!  :WiNkA:

That does suck.
There are no Brazilian online shops who might sell the cd as import and possibly cheaper?

Nope.
nobody cares about metal here.

That's why I always wait and buy the CD from ebay.
usually shipping costs from ebay sellers is $6, worldwide.

Buying from "Official stores" are not worthy here. Shipping is at least twice as expensive and since it's a real "Store", I have to pay + 60% due to import fees.

The same from Century Media store.
I tried to pre-order the Arch Enemy CD once there.
The CD + a poster was $16 and shipping $21 + 60% import fee = $59

I waited, bought from ebay, paid $18 for CD + poster and $6 for shipping. total $24.
The seller sent me as gift, so I hadn't to pay for the import fees.

The only stuff I bought from official store was the Mercyful Fate t-shirts. Just because they are my favourite band and I wanted to at least once, buy from there.
paid $40 for 2 t-shirts, $25 for shipping + $39 for import fees.

But there is also the matter of taxes! I have to pay a shitload of taxes to import from the US :( You don't do that in Netherland?

That depends.
Dunno the exact amount,  but we can import stuff without a problem concerning extra tax.
If it's above a certain amount we do have to pay extra tax...if or when customs checks that certain package.
This is from ordering out of the EU.
When i order from the US, it is one cd/dvd/blu ray/ vinyl at a time.
Than we (Dutch people) have no problems at all or let it send as gift when possible.

I used to make the mistake years ago ordering  couple of dvd's at a time...so customs picked out my order and gave me extra tax, which i had to pay the postman.

In Denmark that is a very very low amount! 80kr and then you will pay a fee of 150 just to the post system for importing it. And then taxes afterwards. 80kr is equal to 10,75 Euro

It was INDEED a link to a VINYL edition. I made a print back then.

So it's just - sadly - changed to a 2CD  :icon_frown:

I would love a vinyl edition as well !!!!!!!!!!

Got my copy tonight, few minutes ago.

It costed me $19.99 + taxes at a local store which seems to be one day in advance to the release date.

I'm right now listening to the sixth song of CD #1 and reading the booklet.

To be frank, I'm not sure I'm liking the remastered versions of the older songs, but it's too early to emit a definitive opinion -as I say, I'm just at track #6 of the first CD.

Noticed a couple of funny things in the booklet. For example, Hal Patino is in the pictures of the band, but his name doesn't appear. However, his name is still mentioned in the liner notes.

Also, the absence of the song "Abigail" feels weird. And I would have liked a picture of Mike Wead playing his not-so-new-anymore black V.

But in general I'm liking it so far. I'll share more thoughts later.

OK, so I will ask again:

Why is only the Metal Blade version of "Dreams of Horror" (dubbed "The Metal Blade Years") available on iTunes? Where's the Roadrunner part? Will there be a separate digital release for those songs, and will that be another $10? If so, there are no references to upcoming releases.

After all the hoopla around this painstakingly remastered release, it seems odd that the world's biggest provider of digital music hasn't even heard of half the album. On Amazon, the world's biggest online warehouse for anything at all, the digital version is also listed as "The Metal Blade Years" with only those songs on, and the CD version does not even have a track listing, so God knows what will be on it.

No offense, but I doubt a compilation only covering the Metal Blade years will get the job done.

Is it amateur hour already?

Good question. The Metal Blade years (disc?) is the only one showing up on Spotify. Could just be something with the digital download portion of it.

If you order from Metal Blade (I think), it looks like the full version (both discs- physical copy)
http://www.indiemerch.com/metalbladerecords/item/28912

My guess is that there is something up with the digital version as opposed to the actual CDs. I do know that iTunes can be weird sometimes. I don't know.

Wish I could help you out with this one, Grace. If I learn something else, I'll post it.

The situation is that Roadrunner did not want to give the license for digital downloads, and also decided not to make it available themselves.
I don't have a good reason why for you.
It doesn't make much sense.
Maybe they're not completely aware of how enhanced these songs are.
Hopefully they'll change their minds down the road, but at this point this is where it's at.

King was a bit upset when he found out just now, and has demanded the title for the Metal Blade downloads from Dreams of Horror be changed to reflect exactly what they are in order to avoid any confusion.

Hopefully people will go and buy the CD version, cause in the end, that's what the enhancement was specifically made for.
MP3 is and will always be inferior sounding.

Cool, thanks. So many labels have been gobbled up or merged it's hard to keep track of it all.

I was listening today on Spotify and thought that was quick for a double cd. Now I know. I did like that I didn't have to touch the eq once. I've made best of mixes' and every different album I would have to adjust. But not with this. Sounded awesome.
