He killed the intro! Hell, he made that entire song look easy! I'm with Chago and cls, get this man in the studio for the next album!

Let Matt loose in the studio! The guy can PLAY! We all know it. This is the bloody war cry of this forum for the past 10 years. We should have bumper stickers made up and march on the castle with torches ablaze and pitchforks at the ready! "Let Matt loose! Let Matt loose!"

One day...

He's been in the studio for the last few albums. I do agree he hasn't been "let loose".

Not to take away anything from the fantastic video posted above, but did anyone ever see this guy do a drum cover of Welcome Home?

He's all right. Technique is sound enough, but he hits the snare like a little girl. Mikkey hits those drums like the motherfucking thunder and Matt leans in there with some goddamn commitment as well. "Welcome Home" is not supposed to be a dainty little piece.

Yes Matt can play no doubt and is an enduring force in King Diamond.  As far as covers go i do not think there is a single song Matt can not do.  Problem being is kit setup for one. Secondly techniques are varied be it kick strength ride timing or snare each drummer has a different perspective or range of playing that is different.   Matt is an awesome drummer and should not be compared to Mikey Dee in cover aspects.

As for Matt letting loose go off and pound it down i do have to agree he is capable of bringing a signature sound to the table and very much think he should.
